JVP-DC Metro invites you to a free screening and discussion of “Al Helm: Martin Luther King in Palestine” by award-winning filmmaker, Connie Fields

The film is about an African-American gospel choir that travels to the Occupied Palestinian Territories to sing in a play about Martin Luther King Jr. During their visit, the director of the Jenin Freedom Dream Theater is assassinated on the anniversary of MLK’s death, sending shock-waves throughout Palestine and Israel. The choir’s members are transformed as they witness life under occupation and a non-violent movement for social justice. Please RSVP. For further information, email jvpdcmetro@gmail.com.
