What's going on with Saudi Arabia, webinar discussion with Saudi Activist and Academic Abdullah Alaoudh

Event Description

Join us for webinar conversation between Ariel Gold and Abdullah Alaoudh, Saudi activist and senior fellow at Georgetown and Visiting Adjunct Professor at George Washington University.

Abdullah Alaoudh is the son of prominent Saudi reformist Muslim scholar Salman al-Odah. In September 2017, Salman al-Odah "tweeted an innocuous message to his 14 million followers encouraging the government to end its diplomatic standoff with Qatar. A few hours later he was taken from our home by state security officials," writes Abdullah Alaoudh in the Guardian. His father "now faces the prospect of being executed on charges that include spreading corruption by calling for a constitutional monarchy, stirring public discord, incitement and “mocking the government’s achievements”.
