Rally to Protest AIPAC and Support Palestine in D.C.

This weekend in Washington D.C. AIPAC is hosting its annual convention, which has historically been a celebration of the most repressive elements of the Israeli state, featuring those most engaged in curtailing Palestine freedom. CODEPINK will be in the streets with our allies to speak out against the apartheid policies AIPAC promotes and in support of Palestinian rights. Please join us!

Palestinians deserve freedom and equality. And AIPAC is the annual variety show of the most blatantly racist and repressive elements of the Israeli state that are actively violating Palestinian human rights.

Not only has Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — AIPAC’s headlining speaker — formed an alliance with an Israeli political party so extreme they are referred to as the Jewish KKK. Last, but last month he also , he confirmed the systemic racism that exists in Israel when he commented that, “Israel is not a state of all its citizens. It’s the nation-state of the Jewish people — and them alone.”

This year, for the first time, the conference will host as a speaker a representative from an illegal settlement, Oded Revivi, the Mayor of the illegal settlement of Efrat. The growing , Jewish-only settlement of Efrat was built on the lands of several surrounding Palestinian villages in the southern West Bank. Settlements are illegal under international law and considered a major obstacle to peace.

This years’  AIPAC conference comes in the wake of a UN report on Israeli war crimes in Gaza and an international campaign to finally get the UN Human Rights council to publish the list of companies involved in illegal settlement expansion.

U.S.-Israel relations MUST change. AIPAC exists to whitewash Israel’s human rights violations and continue unchecked U.S. financial and diplomatic support for Israel — all at the expense of Palestinian rights. If you are in DC this weekend, please join us Sunday in front of the AIPAC to say NO to Racism and Apartheid and YES to justice and equality for all people in Palestine.
