Author/activist Medea Benjamin, cofounder of the women-led peace group CODEPINK, is seeking an assistant to help her with her various projects related to promoting peace and a cooperative foreign policy. The projects she is working on include improving U.S. relations with progressive Latin America countries; pushing for peace talks in Ukraine; supporting the Afghan people, particularly women; and countering violence at home and abroad.
Position Summary
- Manage meetings and appointments.
- Provide support for social media accounts and zoom webinars.
- Assist with implementation of campaigns.
- Help with speaking engagements as part of Ukraine book tour, including arranging travel, itineraries, and logistics.
- Assist in the organizing of events and conferences.
- Send reminders of important tasks and deadlines.
- Liaise with staff at CODEPINK and other organizations.
- Attend select meetings, take notes, capture action items, and ensure follow through.
- Support the cultivation of relationships with allied groups and individuals.
Skills:
- Two years work experience, prior experience in a personal assistant or office/event manager role would be an advantage.
- Proven commitment to social justice and international solidarity.
- Outstanding written communication skills.
- Highly organized, and highly detail-oriented with strong project management and organization skills; able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks quickly, effectively and professionally.
- Familiarity with various forms of social media (Facebook, instagram, Twitter, Tiktok) and zoom tech.
