CODEPINK's Paula Kahn will share her experiences and insights from her recent delegation with Interfaith Peacebuilders to Palestine & Israel. She visited Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, Bethlehem, the Naqab (Negev) desert, the Jordan Valley, Tel-Aviv and met with organizations defending the rights of Palestinian prisoners, children, refugee communities, Bedouin villages, Palestinians living in Jerusalem, Palestinians impacted by the Israel/West Bank barrier wall, as well as conscientious objectors, and peace organizers resisting the Israeli arms trade.
She will define an apartheid state as she witnessed it in her experiences and education. She will draw parallels between the US/Mexico border & the Separation Wall, U.S. police extrajudicial killings and IDF murders of Palestinians, mass incarceration in the U.S. and under Israeli military law, she will discuss state facilitated premature death and genocidal intent as well as colonialism and collective PTSD. We will have the opportunity to collectively explore BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) as a dynamic tool that we can engage on a local level. We will explore how to offer support to those doing risky work in Israel/Palestine and how to nurture networks of transnational solidarity.
We will also be joined by CODEPINK's Claudine Mulard who will share how she passed a #No54BillionForWar resolution in West Hollywood. Our momentum is on the rise!
