Nita Lowey: No $54B for War!

Dear Representative Nita Lowey,

As ranking Democrat on the Appropriations Committee, we ask you to vote against Trump’s proposed budget that will increase military spending by $54 billion. The June 2017 Mayor’s conference in Miami passed a resolution calling for the funding of U.S. cities rather than war. These mayors represent the voices of the American people and you should too!

Sincerely,

It’s pretty apparent that this adminstration, even far more than any other, loves to kill people and has no heart, no conscience regarding their killing of innocent civilians. We, as humans, must evolve.beyond this. This is far worse than barbaric.

The 54B$ is only a start. the budget should be reduced far more, say by one half. It is a budget to control the world, an imperial budget.

President Trump’s perilous expansion of the Defense budget has been proffered without any substantive foreign policy it might be mean to support. Instead, this military buildup will simply serve to further bog the nation down international conflicts that have only heightened anger and resistance toward us. The money targeted by the Trump Administration for the military should be spent on a national infrastructure investment that will bolster our economy and invest in our future.
