Lift Economic Sanctions on Iran!

For a true no-conditions approach, the U.S. needs to stop its campaign of unilateral coercive economic warfare and preparations for war. For genuine, good-faith, no-conditions talks, the US must stop:

  • Reimposing and tightening economic sanctions on Iran
  • Cancelling sanctions waivers to countries importing Iranian oil, to force Iranian oil exports to zero
  • Deploying aircraft carriers to the Persian Gulf to threaten Iran
  • Bypassing Congress to sell weapons to Saudi Arabia and the UAE on the pretext of curb Iranian “threats,”

Sign the petition below to tell Pompeo: Clear the field for peace talks with Iran by lifting the sanctions and ending the threat of war.

Dear Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,

As citizens of the United States, we call on the U.S. government to lift the crippling economic sanctions you have imposed on Iran. We are happy that the administration now says it is open to talks with Iran, but bullying Iran to the negotiating table with sanctions and threats of war is not the answer.

You insist that you care about the Iranian people but your sanctions deprive cancer patients of medications, make it hard for the disabled to get prosthetic limbs, and drive up the price of staple food items.

We would like you to listen to the calls made by 170+ prominent Iranian women’s rights activists who demand that the U.S. end this conflict and lift the devastating sanctions on Iran. These broad sanctions impact the most vulnerable populations, including women, children, minorities, and people with disabilities.

As peace loving Americans, we call for the U.S. to lift sanctions and dismantle the maximum pressure campaign in order to start talks with Iran.

Sincerely,

Will you sign?
