No US intervention in Venezuela

The U.S. is orchestrating a coup in Venezuela that is likely to lead to bloodshed — even civil war. Instead of meddling the internal affairs of another country, the U.S. should be supporting peaceful dialogue facilitated by mediators such as Mexico, Uruguay, and the Pope. We have seen, and are seeing now at the U.S.-Mexico border, the effects of past U.S. backed coups in Latin America — Guatemala in 1953, Chile in 1973, Honduras in 2009. It always turns out disastrous for the people.

Senator Markley has introduced legislation making it clear to President Trump that without congressional authorization - authorization he does NOT have - he may not use military force in Venezuela. Representative David Cicilline has introduced similar legislation in the House

Send a message to your Senators and Representative telling them to cosponsor S.J.Res.11 in the Senate and H.R.1004 in the House to prevent Trump, Bolton, and Abrams from being able to send the U.S. military to intervene in Venezuela.

Dear Congress,

The U.S. has a long and sordid history of supporting coups in Latin America — Guatemala in 1953, Chile in 1973, Honduras in 2009 — and it always turned out disastrous for the people. It’s urgent that you not let the Trump administration send the U.S. military to intervene in Venezuela.

U.S. economic sanctions have devastated Venezuela’s economy, creating food and medicine shortages, widespread poverty, and mass migration. The people of Venezuela need sanctions to be lifted and dialogue between the Maduro government and the opposition to be facilitated — Mexico and Uruguay have offered to mediate, as has the Pope. A democratic process, not a coup, must be supported.

Please co-sponsor Senator Jeff Merkley and Representative David Cicilline’s legislation - S.J.Res.11 in the Senate and H.R.1004 in the House - making it clear to President Trump that without congressional authorization, military force may not be used in Venezuela. After becoming an original co-sponsor of the bills, please encourage revision of the bill’’s to include very important language on the harm being done to the Venezuelan people by the sanctions and the need for dialogue - facilitated by Mexico, Uruguay, and the Pope - to move forward to address this crisis, rather than the US coup strategy.

Thank you.

The hypocrisy of Venezuelan opponents is infinite,on the one hand they complain about living conditions in venezuela and on the other they call for more sanctions to increase the suffering of the people.they ask for invasions because they have no votes to win elections.

This campaign is disgusting and the Venezuelan people deserve better. Can someone provide a link that is anti-code-pink and not completely unamerican? I would rather support that cause.

As a Venezuelan, I can tell you that the reason why my country is so bad its not USA. Do you imagine live with 3$ per month? Me neither, thats why me as many venezuelans had to leave our country seeking to find life opportunities and support our families.

This tremendeous tragedy began long time ago and the reason why in my country there’s no food its because THE GOVERMENT STOLE ALL PRIVATE COMPANIES, they took it and destroyed. Why? Because as any corrupt gov the companies were assigned to “their ppl”, chosen by preferenced instead capacity to rule a Business.

There’s literally vídeos of Maduro’s state leaders saying " We are going to make this company now ours… And if whit the years, it goes down and damage bc none took care of.. Well… We’ll give it back to its legal owners and they will figure out what to do with that crap"… I’m not kidding, here’s the vídeo: he’s the major of Zulia state. If you need i can translate it the whole vid.

The reason why in Venezuela there’s no medicine it’s because the goverment forced the industry to sell at the price they consider… Imagine you have a pharmacy and spend 100$ in fill it and then the gov treat you that if you dont sell everything For 50$ (actually the reallity is less, could say 20$) they will legally take your store and sell everything.

Thoundsands of business man have commited suicide after the gov took their stores and bank rupt them. What would you do? How you cover your family expenses if you wont even have enough to reinvest?

The pain and suffering we have live for 20 years its tremendeous and i can say i feel emocional and psyco affected. I only have 25 years old.

And the saddest part is that we cant finish this misery bc the goverment works with narcotrafic. Or didnt you in America new that family of the first lady were caught taking drugs to US in a goverment’s plane?

Are you guys really that blind? If any of you have the pants to support this, please contact me @lulusadas you are invated to live in my house in Venezuela, as long as you wish (or deal with the situation). I can find you a job. Try to live with 3$ each month (rent and house expenses free)

We’ve seen how our interventions have affected stability in central and south america. The result is mass migration to our southern border. When will this end?

Regime change wars have historically caused Refugees. We already have Honduran refugee from the last US interventionism at our border. If you want to solve the illegal crisis, then stop creating refugees. Let Venezuela work out it’s own problems. We do not need to be the worlds police or bully countries who have different political systems than ours. We also know the true motive is control of Venezuelan Oil, so we install a US friendly leader who for a price will do the oil industry’s bidding.

USA should invade to free Venezuela. Maduro is a dictator supported by 20,000 cuban troops , torturing venezuelans. Russia , Hezbollah and other international terrorists are present in Venezuela hatching terrorists attacks to USA. Danny Clover is just defending millions given to him by Chavez to produce a film that he never did. Danny where is the money?

So, you call yourselves freedom fighters, and create a campaign supporting a dictator like Maduro who’s killing his own people, who have created the worst inflation ever in the country, who has tons of people dying out of hunger? I am Venezuelan born, and your campaign is like supporting Fidel, Putin, Kim Jong Un, or any other massive freedom suppressor dictator. You girls have it so wrong it hurts.
