Emily Dorrel is the Social Media Communications Director for CODEPINK.
She received her bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Media Studies from Lewis and Clark College and a master's degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). After graduating with her bachelor's degree, she moved to Barcelona, Spain, where she taught English. While at CSUN, she channeled her activism into academia, using higher education as a platform to critique US capitalism, white ethnocentrism, sexism and the politics of space. She also worked alongside Reverend James Lawson as a teaching assistant for his course on nonviolent resistance, part of CSUN's Civil Discourse and Social Change Initiative (CDSC). She's honored to work alongside so many amazing, influential activists in the fight for peace and justice.
