Bird-Dogging Candidates for Peace!

PeacePresidentSquare.png

CODEPINK models social justice (with a splash of pink) by making beautiful trouble at 2016 Presidential candidate appearances. Armed with our 10-point peace platform, we remind candidates that U.S. foreign policies should be based on respect, cooperation and demilitarization. We know that change will not occur unless citizens stand up!

NOTE: CODEPINK is a 501c3 and we do not endorse any candidate!

Plan your strategy

  • Stage a presence: Will you be attending the event inside or staying outside with banners and signs? Use the peace platform for banner messaging suggestions. Depending on the circumstances, purchase or reserve a ticket, stand in line or otherwise peacefully enter the event.
  • Post your outside event to the CODEPINK action calendar
  • If you attend the event, you might be searched by security at the event. If so, slip your banner up your sleeves; fold in your pockets, pants/skirt or any other inconspicuous areas. Don’t forget a copy of the 10 Peace asks for Presidential Candidates. Be prepared to hand a copy of it to the candidate or campaign aide.
  • Document your experience! Take a photo/or video with the candidate or campaign aide with a banner and/or discussion about the Peace platform. Share it on social media — Facebook, write a blog and tweet it on Twitter!
