May 5–May 12, 2018

Travel to Barcelona, Spain to see how activists, social movements and progressive political forces are building one of the world’s most innovative local peace economies. As we explore this magnificent city by foot and metro, we will learn about the struggle for liberation and how the city has developed under Mayor Ada Colau—a radical, feminist, housing rights activist elected in 2015. Our partner and friend María Palomares Arenas, Director of Calala Fondo de Mujeres is creating a beautiful and multi-layered tour.

Meet with feminist members of the citizens’ movement Barcelona en Comú, a movement guided by a values-based politics that emphasizes the role of community and the common good. Dive deep into history on a Civil War Walking Tour. Tour cooperatives and delve into the richness of this magnificent and revolutionary city. Break bread with the women of Ca la DONA, the center of the region’s feminist movement, and learn about their accomplishments and challenges.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Barcelona culture with CODEPINK and learn from the extraordinary women of this revolutionary city.
