VIDEO: Who profits from Israeli occupation?

Posted by CODEPINK Staff

The Real News just published this compelling 10-min. clip detailing the purpose and history of current efforts to boycott Israeli products, how it relates to the international boycott of South Africa in the late '80s during its apartheid, and CODEPINK's new "Stolen Beauty" boycott campaign of the Israeli cosmetics company, Ahava.

It's especially interesting to those of us, like me, who were too young to really understand America's big push to boycott South Africa during its apartheid, why people believe Israeli products (or U.S. companies that profit from Israel, like Motorola) should be boycotted. As a such a consumerist society, it feels strange, though incredibly empowering, to consider we can make change just by purchasing certain products (or not). Any thoughts?
