Cynthia Papermaster's report back: On December 8, members of CODEPINK, Progressive Democrats of America and World Can't Wait confronted former Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, at the World Affairs Council in San Francisco. Here's what they said on the People's Mic: "MIC CHECK MIC CHECK Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of Homeland Security, is complicit in the commission of war crimes, torture. He gave the green light on waterboarding. He co-authored the U.S. Patriot Act; Initiated the second largest racial profiling operation in the U.S. He violated protection and rights of domestic detainees. Michael Chertoff should be arrested for crimes against humanity; for war crimes!" There was no violence against us, but some in the audience were extremely rude and nasty. The fellow next to me ripped my Mic Check script out of my hand, but luckily I had another copy. We had tickets to attend this event. There were lots of empty seats.
