There are committees and discussion with young women about (sos) sexism and patriarchy. These are reflected in the minutes from General Assembly.
Some amazing work particularly against the Republican stronghold was done this past week. We had great actions on Monday and Wednesday at the Mickey Leland Federal Building.
Madeleine is recruiting for Friday, October 21st, to encourage OccupyHouston, CODEPINK, et al to take the bus by Good Jobs Great Houston to unite with Dallas allies. This is part of the movement to keep the pressure on the Republicans to create jobs.
Dallas unemployed people visited Congressman Hensarling's office on Wednesday. The large crowd made Henserling's aide nervous.
On Saturday, October 15, OccupyHouston held a march and rally about the corporate corruption and deception aspects of the so-called Energy Day sponsored by big oil companies. Examples included: the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Keystone XL Pipeline, a potential serious environmental disaster, and many others.
