Bay Area CODEPINKers were thrilled and inspired to take part in the solidarity rally with Wisconsin in Sacramento this Saturday. Eleanor Levine had interesting conversations as she handed out our flyer with a comparison of costs of war with state budget deficits. Toby, Martha and Carol Anne zipped down from their ground the drones vigil at Beale Air Force Base. Kayla Starr made a great new banner that says "$$ FOR HUMAN NEEDS, NOT WAR AND GREED", and got us up to the mic on the Capitol Steps to sing a song. When Janet intro'd our singing by saying, "We love you Sacramento! Sacramento stands in solidarity with Madison and with working people everywhere!" the crowd of about 500, mostly union workers, roared its approval. We sang Kayla's new lyrics to the classic "Bella Ciao" which includes these lines: "We want justice for all the people/Bring Our War Dollars Home right now!"
