LAPD Body Cam Hearings

This Wednesday and Thursday the LAPD is holding public hearings on the use of body cameras, and CODEPINK Los Angeles will be mobilizing along with our partners at Stop LAPD Spying on Thursday to voice our issues with the use of body cameras. Join us to demand ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, and an end to EXCESSIVE POLICING AND SURVEILLANCE by the LAPD. Until we get answers about who can access the footage, how it will be used, and whether there will be third-party oversight of the cameras, we will continue to see body cameras as an ineffective solution to excessive policing, targeted historically and primarily in low-income communities of color. With the recent shooting of Ezell Ford, Omar Abrego, and countless, the LAPD must answer to the people. Time to demilitarize the police!

Join community members of Los Angeles to demand accountability and justice! Time to make your voice heard. Whose community? OUR Community!
