On Sunday, January 7, 2018, Israel published a list of organizations whose activists will be barred from entering the country because of their support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement in Palestine. The so-called BDS blacklist was released by the Israeli Strategic Affairs Ministry. Members of CODEPINK and 19 global organizations that support human rights in Palestine are on the blacklist.
Included on the list is the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker organization honored with the 1947 Nobel Peace Prize for assisting and rescuing victims of the Nazis. It is also one of the first US organizations to stand up against segregation in the United States. The six banned U.S. groups are:
■ American Friends Service Committee
■ American Muslims for Palestine
■ Jewish Voice for Peace
■ National Students for Justice in Palestine
■ US Campaign for Palestinian Rights
Join us in calling on influential US Senators Schumer and Cardin to denounce new Israeli ban on groups support the nonviolent BDS Campaign for Palestinian rights.
Senators Schumer and Cardin:
Israel has just banned 20 organization that support BDS. This is an outrageous attempt to silence global voices that work to stop the oppression and violations of international law against the people of Palestine.
We call on you, Senators Schumer and Cardin, to say this is unacceptable from a government accepting funds from US taxpayers. Tell Israel to immediately lift the ban.
